FACIALS:

60 Minutes : Clean, steam and massage; extract, mask and moisturize.

90 Minutes: same as above but with a 4-layer mask and not for someone who is claustrophobic. It is a great mask for healing.

Osmosis Facial: for drier and older skin. Tones, lifts and gets those little blackheads out with no extraction. There is no squeezing, therefore no redness!

MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is the fast way to get a healthy, youthful glow to your skin. (It's like sandblasting the skin. Your skin is soo smooth.) Microdermabrasion exfoliates the layers of dead skin that accumulate from age and sun exposure, especially on the face and hands. Through a process of pressurized jet scouring machine, micronized crystals blast against the skin and are immediately vacuumed away, much like sand blasting.

The process takes about 30 minutes and brightens the skin immediately. It is relatively painless, although there might be a sense of tingling or stinging. Some may experience an overly rosy glow for the fist few hours and one should avoid the sun for several days afterward.

It is often the treatment of choice about a week before a reunion, wedding or other important appearance.

A typical regimen can be a series of four to six sessions, two to four weeks apart and then several touch-ups a year.

ULTRA SONIC SKIN CARE

In layman's terms: It's like putting your jewelry in a sonic cleansing machine. It shakes and breaks up all the impurities in your pores and brings that stuff to the top so that it can be gently scraped off while gently micro-massaging the skin.

Technically speaking, an ultrasonic facial uses a cavitation device (a soft spoon-like comb) in combination with low frequency ultrasound waves and mineralized water to safely exfoliate the skin. The ultrasound waves also destroy acne bacteria, while high oxygen levels kill anaerobic organisms, a common cause of acne. The treatment helps combat aging, reduces the appearances of wrinkles, helps manage rosacea and controls hyper-pigmentation foar a more even-toned complexion without the redness the usually follows traditional micro-dermabrasion.

WAXING

Definition: Waxing is the process of temporarily removing body hair by the root by the application of warm wax and cloth strips. Warm wax is gently spread thinly over the skin. A cloth strip is pressed on top and then ripped off removing the wax, hair and dead skin, leaving the skin smooth

Hair regrows between 3 and 8 weeks and usually comes finer and sparser.

Differences: A bikini wax removes the hair along the panty line at the top of the leg. A Brazilian wax removes the hair around the anus, perineum and vagina often leaving a tuft or strip. "Hollywood Waxing" refers to removing all of the genital hair. In a "Bonnie's Deluxe Brazilian", all hair is removed as in a Brazilian described here and genital hair, by request.

Process: After underwear is removed, you will be invited to lie down and raise a leg as needed. Talc will be sprinkled over the area before the wax is applied. After the wax is applied, cloth strips will be laid on the areas where the hair is to be removed and then ripped off. There may some momentary pain when the hair is removed, but many feel it is worth it for the results!

Precautions: Some physicians do not recommend hair waxing for persons suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more susceptible to infection.

Users of Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Accutane are advised not to use hair waxing on the face as these medications tend to weaken the skin and tearing of the skin may occur when the wax is removed.

Hair waxing should not be done on areas of skin affected by warts, pimples, moles or rashes or on skin that is irritated, chapped or suffering from sunburn. Never apply wax to peeling, broken skin or varicose veins.

Wax is never applied to the nipples when removing hair from the breast area nor to the testicles.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a natural healing art, based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands which correspond to every part of the body. By stimulating and applying pressure to the feet or hands, you are increasing circulation and promoting specific bodily and muscular functions. Kevin Kunz, one of the pioneers of reflexology, puts it best -- "Imagine stepping on a tack. Your whole body reacts because of something perceived by the foot." Reflexology with a full range of pressure sensors, utilizes the same body system of fight or flight to relax the body." Indeed, the feet and hands are more sensitive than most people realize. Similar to how we use our eyes to detect light, the hands and feet detect pressure, stretch, movement and weight distribution.

BONNIE HOLLAND

Imagine: stark white and chrome furniture, surrounded by white walls, muted techno music, tall, aloof, white coated technicians with cropped platinum hair and high cheekbones ... If this is your image or has been your facial or waxing experience then you need to go see Bonnie. There are no hot lava rock massages or seaweed wraps. No snake oil or miracle creams. Just deep cleansing facials and world-class bikini waxes. Bonnie now offers reflexology sessions and microdermabrasion.

If seeing your waxer is like a visit to the dentist, you need to visit Bonnie. Let's be honest, a good bikini wax puts you in some, uhm, uncompromising positions. Bonnie never makes you feel self-conscious. She talks to you while she's waxing to help take your mind off the, ah, "discomfort." Patient, calming, inquisitive and thoughtful, comforting and caring, a conversation with Bonnie is like a visit to a shrink! Likewise during a facial or microdermabrasion, Bonnie talks with you explaining the procedure step-by-step.

Bonnie's "shop" reflects her personality. Unlike a traditional "salon", each wall and window has a different color; there are hints of the southwest in the colors and art of Georgia O'Keeffe and other wall hangings. The room is warm, bright, spotless and comfortable.
